On September 10, 2019, a miracle happened in the City Court: right during the meeting, a notice came from the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), which demanded to suspend the deportation of blogger Elvin Isaev from the country. Earlier, an advocate of Iusland Law Offices Olga Tseytlina and an advocate Yuri Serov sent a request to the ECHR for the application of the protective measures provided for in “rule 39” of the ECHR regulation.

On August 24, the blogger was detained in St. Petersburg in the village of Petro-Slavyanka. The police confiscated his Russian citizen’s passport, and the migration services declared it invalid. Two days after the arrest, the Dzerzhinsky District Court decided to expel the blogger from the country. Isaev lives in St. Petersburg with his wife and two minor children, who are citizens of Russia.
