Viktor Andreev, Iusland Law Offices” lawyer, commented on the information portal «Nevskie Novosti» about the possible consequences of violators - restaurateurs of the “resistance movement”.

14.01.2021

Despite the remaining tense epidemic situation in the city and some easing of coronavirus restrictions by the governmental authorities, restaurateurs of the "resistance movement" continue to violate city legislation. Given the orders issued by the Property Control Committee, Rospotrebnadzor and the police to stop activities after eleven in the evening, many cafes, bars and restaurants are in no hurry to comply with them.

The punishment for the perpetrators depends on the type of violation and its consequences, warns the lawyer of the Bureau Viktor Andreev.

«The Prosecutor or other competent authority has the right to apply to the court with a demand for a permanent prohibition of activities that pose a danger to others. In addition to administrative liability, if a person died as a result of an offense or it entailed a massive infection of people or created a threat of such consequences, criminal liability is provided under Art. 236 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the punishment for which is, with different consequences, from 500 thousand to 2 million rubles a fine, restriction of freedom for up to four years, forced labor for up to five years, imprisonment for up to five years», - explained Andreev.
