Iusland Law Office’s Managing partner Elena Legashova gave a comment to the newspaper "Delovoy Peterburg" about the appointment of expertise in customs disputes.

When customs disputes arise, there are often situations that require the involvement of specialists with special knowledge in certain areas - experts. Expert organizations are independent structures that help the parties to the proceedings to establish the reliability of certain facts, evidence, etc.

"It is this (expertise) that allows an independent specialist in a particular industry to establish the classification features of the disputed goods or their absence. The court does not have the necessary knowledge, and the customs authorities carry out the examination in customs expert institutions, which in fact are not independent", - commented Elena Legashova.
